· Rotary Juice Screens. With the recent trend towards better cane preparation the mixed juice entering into

the process section contains higher quantity of bagacillo particles which subsequently affects the

processing of the juice. A Rotary Juice Screen from Edwards Engineering separates the bagacillo

particles at the milling station itself, which has the twin advantages of reducing juice loading at the second

mill and avoiding downstream processing problems, such as color formation due to “tea-brewing” effect;

interference with gravity sedimentation process at the clarifier; more retention time at the clarifier for

allowing lighter particles to settle; clogging of juice strainers, pumps, piping, juice heater headers, etc.
